About Us
Wesley Chapel Academy is an educational academy specializing in preschool. Owned and operated by three former elementary teachers, it offers students a chance to build a strong foundation necessary for success throughout their academic life.
Dawn Bender, Christel Phelps and Amber Burgess each taught in the Pasco County school system for over a decade. In recent years, they became frustrated with the emphasis on testing which they saw first-hand increase child anxiety, reduce instructional time, and stifle their student’s love of learning. Finally, the trio decided to leave the public-school system in order to open a school that would emphasize the skills they know are more important – phonics, number sense, basic science concepts and – most of all – instill a love of learning.
Our teachers are highly trained and experienced in early childhood education. They are passionate about working with young children and creating a positive and engaging learning environment. They work closely with parents to ensure that each child receives the individual attention and support they need to thrive.
